On Insight

Insight (insīt′)

noun

1. the ability to see and understand clearly the inner nature of things, esp. by intuition

2. a clear understanding of the inner nature of some specific thing

(Webster’s New World College Dictionary, 2010)

Anytime someone gets a new idea, they say that a light bulb
has come on. Of course, this always makes me think of Mr. Gru in Despicable Me.
However, I have found that insight into a topic is not so sudden as a light
bulb turning on. In fact, it seems as if the sun is slowly coming out from
behind the clouds. This brightening of thought, if you will, has always seemed
more special to me than a sudden dawning of inspiration. The gradual, and often
inconsistent, understanding that I have come to identify as insight can make a
more lasting impression on me than a “light bulb” idea. It grows with me and
helps me to grow. So, now that this paragraph is showing just how much of an eccentric I truly am, I will simply invite you to explore my writings and share any
insights of your own. Have a lovely day!
